We the deaf youth of America have been ignored and marginalized long enough. It is time for us to assembly a new organization by deaf youth, about deaf youth and for deaf youth.

This idea sprouted from a common need for a voice for deaf youth ages 18 to 30. After viewing NAD’s struggle in establishing a program for this age group, it is obvious that there needs to be a new perspective and vision for deaf youth. In the history of deaf people in America, there has never been an organization where we can come together to make a difference. That will finally change this summer!

In New Orleans, there will be a national conference hosted by National Association of the Deaf (NAD) from July 7th to 11th. To coincide with this event, we will have a retreat right before the conference for deaf youth to meet and discuss the formal establishment of DYUSA.

This will happen at the KOA campgrounds in New Orleans from July 3rd to 7th.

If this excites you as much as it does us, go on to the FAQ’s for more information and how to apply.
