Summer 2008 will be unforgettable. It’s the launch of DYUSA!you bring your action

The first DYUSA camp will be held at Bayou Segnette State Park near New Orleans, Louisiana during the days of July 3-7 2008.  The park is located a mere twenty minutes from the city center and the NAD national conference.  We have reserved 34 sites and each site can sleep six people, with a picnic table, grill, and fire ring.  Of course, there are toilets, showers, laundry, and other facilities that will make this camping experience go smoothly.  There is also a pool reserved for overnight guests.  200 deaf youth and a pool?  Just don’t do a massive cannonball contest.  There is grassy picnicking areas, playgrounds (if you’re bringing your kids or like to be a kid), a wave pool, boating, fishing, and trails for hiking.  Bayou is the place to be.

Bring the appropriate gear: tents, clothes, sleeping bags, swimming stuff, toiletries, sandals, sunscreen, sunglasses, one or two nice outfits, manually-operated fans, and a portable air conditioner.  Bring your laptops, digital cameras, video cameras, and technology stuff if you want, Bayou does have wireless internet!

Have a RV? Van with a camper? Sure, as each site is “Premium,” outfitted with the basic water and electrical hookups.

The location isn’t too far off from the hot spots in New Orleans and there are places to eat and sightsee nearby.  Like you would want to leave and miss out on the good barbecued meals and the socialization!
